Modeling disinformation

I first got here up with the concept of ​​using a generative model to review the results of disinformation a decade ago, without foreseeing that the concept would unfortunately turn into so relevant to the safety of democratic processes. My original models were designed to look at the impact of disinformation on financial markets, but as fake news became more of an issue, my colleague and I started the model expanded to review its impact on elections.

Does disinformation have an effect?

We have found that a single release of such disinformation, well before Election Day, may have little impact on the election consequence.
